Mixing prints doesn’t have to feel overwhelming—in fact, it can be the most joyful part of the process. In this workshop, I’ll show you how to break out of the “matching” mindset and start combining fabrics from different designers, collections, and eras with ease.
You’ll learn how to mix color, scale, and motif in a way that feels intentional, personal, and a little bit daring.
Let’s turn fabric chaos into quilt magic—together.
Techniques: Color, style, confidence
Class Fee Members: $35.00
Class Fee Non-Members: $50.00
Skill level: Creative beginner and beyond!

Gentle curves, bold blocks, and endless possibilities.
The curved seams in Legacy Wheel are soft, approachable, and perfect for anyone new to curved piecing. If you’re already comfortable with curves, you’ll love how smoothly these blocks come together—no stress, just rhythm and flow.
Each block finishes at a striking 24 inches, so you can create a statement-size quilt in surprisingly little time.
This workshop suits quilters new to curves as well as experienced makers seeking a focused, skill-building project that goes together quickly and delivers a bold, big-block finish.
Class Fee Members: $45.00
Class Fee Non-Members: $60.00

Modern Before Modern
with Tara Miller
Doors open at 9:00am; meeting begins at 9:45am.
Tara Miller Presents:
What comes to mind when you think of Modern Quilts?
In this lecture, we’ll take a fresh look at unexpected modernism in quilts made long before the Modern Quilt Movement began. From the early 1800s through the 1980s, we’ll explore quilts that echo many of the design elements we now associate with the modern aesthetic. This conversation invites us to uncover the deep roots of our collective quilting journey—and to swoon over some tantalizingly modern antique quilts along the way.
Please bring your Show 'n Tell pieces to share at the meeting and don't forget about the FREE Table!
AAQG General Meeting is a HYBRID meeting
Doors Open at 6:00 PM - Come hang out!
Meeting Begins at 6:45
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Tara Miller
Presents
Fire of My Foremothers:
Let’s get connected—to the quilts and the women who came before us.
We’ll dig into vintage and antique quilts (many of these from my collection) and read them like the material culture love letters they are. We’ll talk fabric (feedsacks, calicos, and surprise prints), design choices (patterned or improvised?), and the creative pathways behind them—whether sparked by a published pattern, traded among friends, or improvised with scraps.
We’ll bust a few myths, date a few quilts, and unlock the subtle clues that reveal the hands and lives behind the needle—our foremothers stitching boldness, beauty, and practicality into every seam.
History never looked so good—or said so much.

Join the incredible AAQG Guild Members at the Maker's Table!
Ever wish you could peek over a master quilter's shoulder and ask all the questions? Now you can.
Join us for a hands-on learning event where our most talented guild members open up their toolboxes and share what they know — through live demonstrations, tips, techniques, and make-and-take stations designed to spark your creativity and build your skills.
With 5–6 interactive stations, you set the pace. Stop, watch, try, learn, and move on when you're ready.
Here's the secret: our morning and evening meetings will each feature different demonstrations — so there's good reason to come back for both. Double the learning, double the fun.
Whether you're a seasoned quilter or still finding your groove, this is your invitation to learn something new from the talented hands right in your own guild.
Come curious. Leave inspired.
Doors open at 6:00m; meeting begins at 6:45am.
It's a wrap party for our 2026 Program Year!
Every great quilt deserves a great binding, and so does our guild year. Join us for our June meeting for team games, mystery challenges, fabulous prizes, and more fun than a well-stocked quilt shop on sale day. Details are classified, just know that comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged. Bring a snack to share, water provided. Come ready to laugh, compete (friendly of course), and celebrate everything we've sewn together this year. It's our grand finale and we're binding off in style.
