Molas are a fascinating and beautiful tradition from Panama. Learn how to build the layers of a mola and add applique after construction to accent your piece.
Open up your Creative Possibilities!
No machine necessary! All handwork.
Margaret Willingham is an experienced teacher who specializes in teaching her signature, non-traditional method for hand and machine reverse applique that makes it easy and FUN! Eye of the Beholder’s method is called: Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch.
In all workshops every student: has a front row seat with our multiple camera set up; will gain proficiency and skill as you learn the needed techniques in an encouraging environment; will be given clear explanations combined with step-by-step demos, plenty of time to practice your stitching and time to ask questions; will learn our simple, non-traditional methods plus tips and tricks to help you stitch like a pro; receive advice on use of fabric and texture to give that ‘wow’ effect with your pieces. Discuss how to quilt your reverse applique piece, too.
Her 10 years of teaching quilting is anchored in 40 years of training dancers of all ages and skill levels. Margaret has taught her hand and machine reverse applique methods to quilters nationally at Road to CA, Vermont Quilt Festival, AQS shows, KCRQF, Applique Away on Galveston Bay, Academy of Applique and QuiltFest . Quilting is a journey and Margaret will inspire yours to be taken creatively and joyfully with grace.
