Value Coloring to Create Visual Depth:  A 4-hour workshop

August 5, 2023 - 9:00am to 1:30pm CDT

Travis County Oak Hill Community Center

8656 State Hwy 71, Austin, TX 78735

Due to circumstances beyond the Guild's control, this workshop is moved to:

Austin Sewing Machines and Quilting

1601 S I-35 Frontage Rd #300Round Rock, TX 78664

In this workshop you will learn how to “see” (pick out) the values and colors that create visual depth in a photo, a painting, and in real life, so that you can use that information in your quilting.  You’ll learn Annette’s painting techniques to add small details and visual depth with value coloring on an 8x10 project.

No prior painting skills required!  All painting supplies will be provided in class.

A $15.00 Student Fee will be charged for the Pattern and use of paint, brushes, and a small piece of prepared-for-dyeing fabric.

Workshop Pre-Work:  Before the class, you will receive a pattern and instructions BY EMAIL for making the small, fused raw-edged project that you will paint on in class.  You need to make the fused piece BEFORE COMING TO CLASS so that we will have plenty of time for painting.
