Meeting Begins at 6:45

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER:  Tara Miller

Presents

Fire of My Foremothers:

Let’s get connected—to the quilts and the women who came before us.

We’ll dig into vintage and antique quilts (many of these from my collection) and read them like the material culture love letters they are. We’ll talk fabric (feedsacks, calicos, and surprise prints), design choices (patterned or improvised?), and the creative pathways behind them—whether sparked by a published pattern, traded among friends, or improvised with scraps.

We’ll bust a few myths, date a few quilts, and unlock the subtle clues that reveal the hands and lives behind the needle—our foremothers stitching boldness, beauty, and practicality into every seam.

History never looked so good—or said so much.
