More and more quilters are considering themselves textile artists. Just as with any of the more traditionally recognized art forms, their makers need to be familiar with and have some facility with the elements and principles of design including value, line, space, balance, unity, etc. This slide lecture is an introduction to these design essentials which we’ll examine embodied in quilts.
