Crazy for Stitching - Cheryl Christian
Hand embroidery has been one of the hottest new techniques to add to your quilting repertoire. Come learn and work surface embroidery stitches with a teacher crazy about embroidery. Try out stitches and stitch combinations on a provided crazy quilt block or bring you own crazy quilt block or doodle cloth.
If participants want to bring their own work rather than purchase a kit, they will need to bring something to stitch on, either a crazy quilt block, or doodle cloth, or quilt block, and a light-weight muslin or cotton backing to support the stitching. They will also need to bring several skeins of six-stranded cotton embroidery floss and any other hand-embroidery threads of their choosing, such as metal or silk threads.
$3 for handouts, if students bring their own block or doddle cloth, and embroidery threads
$50 optional kit fee (including the $3 for handouts). Kit includes made-up crazy patch block at least 10 inches x 6 inches, colors and fabrics predetermined by teacher, stranded embroidery flosses, needle
Supplies to bring: sharp or crewel needles, scissors (embroidery scissors would be most useful). The following are optional: tape measure or small ruler, embroidery hoop to fit the work, reference books on particular stitches
