Boutique Coordinator
Duties
- Coordinate all activities relating to the Boutique.
- Solicit items for the Boutique from the bees and from Guild members.
- Provide suggestions and sample ideas or patterns to members.
- Arrange for collection (primarily at Guild meetings), transportation and storage of items donated by guild members for sale in the Boutique.
- Store items in a smoke-free, animal-free area prior to show.
- Price items to include sales tax.
- Work with Show Co-Chairs and/or Festival Specialties Coordinator to determine whether and how the Boutique will sell Festival Specialties items (t-shirts etc).
- Work with Silent Auction Coordinator if items are submitted in either area which are more appropriate for the other.
- Design layout of Boutique area.
- Submit to Floor Plan Coordinator the booth requirements, such as tables, chairs, electrical outlets.
- Arrange for special equipment needed, such as cash register.
- Setup and dismantle the booth.
- Manage the activities of the Boutique during the show, including stocking and payment.
- Collect sales income in the booth. Each day Treasurer will provide start-up money and will collect money.
- Identify and train special volunteers to use equipment such as cash register.
- Maintain records of expenses and receipts, working closely with the Treasurer and Co-Chairs to stay within budget.
- Arrange for the return and/or disposal of unsold items after the show.
- Recruit assistants and committeee members through Volunteer Coordinator.
- Write thank-you notes as appropriate.
- Maintain list of helpers who assisted you (besides show volunteers), and give to the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Prepare information for publication in Quips and/or special publications.
- Prepare final report and update committee notebook.
