11:00 am"Yo-Yo's on Beds and Elsewhere"
       With Nancy Atkinson
Learn to make a yo-yo and see examples of yo-yo bed coverings. Talk about the history of yo-yo's and about other ways to use yo-yo's. You’ve just finished a great quilt top – now you need the perfect quilting design to compliment the top. Students will be shown a variety of quilts and discuss the quilting designs. Stencils are notorious for not fitting the borders and areas we want to quilt. Learn how to adjust stencils to fit these areas. This demo will also cover marking quilt tops.

3:00 pm"Nips & Tucks"
       With Billie Roberts
3:30 pm"6” Postage Stamp Block"
       With Kathleen McCrady
The Stamp Basket quilt block takes it's name from the actual postage stamp issued in the 1980s. The demonstration shows how to cut the pieces from a 6" square of fabric, them combine that with background fabric to make a 6" block. 4 of these blocks makes a 12" block. My demonstration will be done using 6" feedsack squares, however, it can be done with other fabrics.

4:30 pm"Rag Quilts"
       With Julie Ann Moon
I will be demonstrating the quick, denim snip quilt. I have made many of these and have incorporated some great short cuts to the way I was introduced to the method. A finished quilt in a couple of hours is really possible! This is a great first time quilt project or one to make with a child and is truly a usable quilt that only gets better with each washing.

Sat, Sept 30, 2006
11:00 am"Trunk Show"
       With Maxine Wallace
My trunk show will be mainly on how to use old, odd quilt blocks, or parts of quilts. I have made quite a few things using these things that no one knows what to do with. Also, a few pieces of redwork used in a new way using old linens. Quite a few items have feedsacks incorporated into them, either as blocks or backings. One quilt top I just put together uses the blocks I made in 1937 when I was 12.
12:00 pm"*INSTANTLY* Improve Free-Motion Machine Quilting"
       With Kathryn Kistner
- Do free-motion quilting on your home sewing machine - Use sticky templates to guide your stitching. - Learn how to mark, cut and place the templates. - TIPS to make this technique really work for you. - See finished quilts on which the technique was used.

1:00 pm"Flying Geese"
       With Bonnie Harvey
2:00 pm"Shadow Applique"
       With Flo Cochran
A technique of needlework achieved by placing applique designs on a foundation fabric and covering them with a sheer fabric. Fancy stitches then enhance the shapes and hold them in place. By using the sheer fabric, the problem of fraying edges is eliminated. No edges to turn under. This can be used on a garment, used as a pillow, use in a quilt and beautiful enough to decorate the home.
