The theme for the 2006 Quilt Show is "In a Quilter's Garden".

If you want to see outstanding quilts made by Austin quilters, then put these dates, September 29 - October 1, 2006, on your calendar.

The show will have more than 350 appliqué, pieced, miniature, art quilt and wearable arts challenge entries. In addition, you can shop at more than 40 vendor booths filled with quilts, fabrics, books, patterns, specialty tools, supplies, and wearable art.

You can attend demonstrations on various quilting topics, introduce your children to quilting in our children's area, and have your quilts appraised by a certified quilt appraiser.

A word from our 2006 Quilt Show Chairs:

"We have been asked how we came up with the theme 'In a Quilter's Garden' for the show.

Quilting is a growth process, with the quilter always trying new ideas, learning new techniques and perfecting old ones. Like a garden, quilts can be bright and colorful, or subdued and sedate. Patterns can be followed in a well-planned way, or can be thrown together haphazardly.

Whatever your method of quilting, or gardening, the end result is truly personal, an expression of its creator. We come together at our quilt show every two years in order to celebrate our creative expressions, our quilts, our fabric gardens, and to pass the love of the quilt on to others in the community."
