Come, see Hollis' beautiful trunk show of textiles from Africa. In this presentation, Hollis will help the audience understand the importance of the cloths in West Africa and how much the everyday life revolves around them. She will also show a variety of hand-woven, industrial woven and printed textiles from Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Niger, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria. West Africa has an extremely rich culture in textiles. It produces some of the most beautiful fabrics in all of Africa and is known worldwide for its traditional weavers, dyers and the elegant dress of the people.
