2009 Challenge - Playing with the Color Wheel
Page 1       Page 2

The 2009 AAQG Quilt Challenge was “PLAYING WITH THE COLOR WHEEL.” Membership/participants were asked to make a quilt using a monochromatic, complementary, analogous or triadic color palette from the color wheel. This challenge was designed to encourage quilters to learn more about color using the color wheel and have fun with color and design.

The entries were judged and then exhibited at the Borders Book Store in the Westgate shopping center from November 14, 2009 to December 8, 2009.

There were 15 quilts entered. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and two honorable mention awards were chosen by two judges outside of our guild. A Viewer's Choice was chosen by the AAQG membership. We appreciate B&B Quilting for assisting us in finding judges and having a place for the quilts to be judged.

  • 1st Place: Julie Ann Moon
  • 2nd Place: Linda Scheible
  • 3rd Place: Paige Fish
  • Honorable Mention:
    • Emma Krenek
    • Kenna Gene Dees
  • Viewer's Choice: Betty Dunn
