Fred was a prolific tie salesman but often brought home tie samples that he just could not sell. Mabel was a traditional quilter who loved the beautiful tie fabrics and just HAD to make something out of them. There is a piece of pearl trim from a collar of her dress; ivory beads from a broken necklace; hand-beaded flower trim from a prom dress; a corner of an antique handkerchief; a small watch with tatting trim; a mother-of-pearl belt buckle; a small hosiery clip; a small fabric doily left from a table setting to frame a recent photograph of Fred and Mabel-the Perfect Couple!
