This challenge gave me the opportunity to honor breast cancer survivors including my sister, Virginia Adlof, who had a mastectomy in the spring of 2005. Eventually the quilt will go to Colorado for donation to my sister's local chapter of Susan G. Komen for auctioning. This challenge taught me that construction of soft sculpture changes the hanging dynamic. To ameliorate the distortion of the top-heavy sculpture (no pun intended), I added weights and dowels to the back.
